What You’ll Do
We’re a globally distributed team, and this is a 100% remote role (we prefer the UTC to UTC+5 timezones). We’re also a young team which means you’ll have a lot of growth opportunities during your first year (and beyond) at Re:Coded. Here’s what you can expect, and we’ll also leave space for you to define your role, too!
In your first 90 days, you’ll:
- Familiarize yourself with Re:Coded’s current models and programs, and begin to refine systems to manage our internal career counseling services
- Review all the existing content we have in Career Services, both in terms of curricula and sessions/lessons, and recommend areas for improvement, impact, and growth
- Support at least one bootcamp as the primary career coach. This includes helping our fellows identify and stay accountable to their personal career goals, prepare for interviews, develop job-ready application materials, etc.
- Develop workshops and student-facing resources on professional skills related to job applications and the job search, starting from the biggest gaps in the program
- Ideate and develop content for our public workshops on career-related topics and skills development
In your first year, you’ll:
- Be an identifiable public voice for Re:Coded’s content and live sessions on career-related topics
- Support efforts to smoothen our fellows and alumni’s transition from classroom to career, through one-on-one counseling and delivering group programming.
- Collaborate with Education and Careers team member to refine curriculum and create new student-facing resources as needed.
- Coordinate with our community and our partners to create additional educational opportunities for our fellows (mock technical interviews, project feedback, etc.)
- Track fellow/alumni progress & goals, to ensure every member of our community feels supported in their journey after our immersive educational programs
- Document and refine processes for career coaches or mentors, including a guide of processes and best practices
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- Great knowledge in coaching or counseling
- Able to manage a large volume of requests and organize systems to keep track of students in various stages. Highly organized & data conscious.
- Able to give constructive, positive feedback to people of diverse professional and life backgrounds.
- Comfortable presenting both one-on-one and delivering to a large group
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Bonus points if…
- Some kind of qualitative or UX research experience
- Trauma-informed in coaching or counseling
