Trendyol is aiming to develop a world-class e-commerce platform and we are undertaking a multi-year effort to achieve this goal. We are seeking entrepreneurial candidates to join a team, dedicated to defining the customer experience for our international customers across domains in the supply chain.
You get to work in a high impact role, paving the way International expansion for Trendyol will shape up in future. As a Head of Cross border Compliance, you will plan projects and work cross-functionally with legal and business stakeholders globally, to operationalize and implement regulatory requirements. You will ensure compliance with all corporate compliance program expectations and applicable regional laws. You will conduct risk assessments related to existing processes and new product assortment. You will also recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to corporate compliance, including process change and training considerations. Your role will be critical to govern Customs compliance of all our cross-border movements, promote utilization of Customs preferential schemes and collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver results.
YOUR PROFILE
10+ years’ experience in investigations, risk management, incident or crisis management, or program management, or escalation handling
5+ years of experience working in law, compliance, regulatory or a related field
Experience preparing reports identifying findings and providing recommended remediation strategies and solutions
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
Knowledge of the principal methods, procedures, and techniques of gathering information and producing, reporting, and sharing information
Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization
Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
Ability to effectively work with remote teams across continents and deliver results.
Highly polished communication skills – speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating.
Working in a start-up or early stage environment where you will be defining best practice for your function.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Develop/Deploy Customs operation process/tool in the region within the company and among external service providers to ensure compliance with Customs requirements.
You will be responsible for partnering with the business and tech teams to identify and design the future state of the program, the processes and services provided, adjusting the team’s strategy by taking regulatory changes as well as business expansion models into consideration.
Influencing a cross-functional team of legal, business, tech and compliance stakeholders globally.
Provide expertise on developing Sourcing strategy plans that require crossing international borders.
Lead various audits and develop resolution & actions items on any findings.
Understand the business plans, customers risk areas and legal requirements to operationalise the right controls required to support business expansion within a framework of risk reduction.
You will play the key role in protecting duties benefit & generate annual savings from various special Customs regimes in the countries
You will influence & bring digitization/automation solutions in customs compliance
Working with the Operations and Product / Tech teams to identify and execute the projects to continuously improve the quality of controls provided and the efficiency of the program as a mechanism to scale.
Track and monitor performance against program goals, and identify opportunities for improvement.
