HR Generalist

Our Hamburg Süd brand is looking to employ an HR generalist for covering maternity leave until end Dec 2022. The ideal candidates should have outstanding analytical and communication skills to implement operational and advisory HR processes, as well as to build strong relationships and trust with leaders and colleagues.

The HR generalist will have administrative responsibilities and is required to have excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure execution and delivery of HR operational activities in an effective and efficient manner in the framework of organizational guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain the organization’s employee database in SAP and in other HR related software and mapping programs.
  • Ensure data accuracy in coordination with related global hubs and manage smooth transition of data to other HR Operations systems
  • Manage recruitment process either by identifying candidates, conducting interviews and reference checks or by following up the process through vendors
  • Issue employment contracts, update records and perform an effective onboarding process to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. Manage all compensation and benefit related tasks for the new hires
  • Maintain employee files and all related documents, tracking vacations through related HR software, following up sick leave/ reimbursements and produce annual leave reports.
  • Be the primary responsible for proper execution of payroll process with payroll service providers, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct checks, manage notifications to related internal and external parties
  • Assist in data gathering including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Assist with administering compensation programs, benefits
  • Produce and submit regular employee reports and payroll reports
  • Follow up of any legal changes. Ensure legal compliance of HR regulations and applicable employment laws
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, parental matters, employee benefits and all other employee-related matters
  • Manage global mobility tasks for the group through service providers
  • Follow up of Occupational Health and Safety requirements with internal and external parties
  • Assist with other topics brought forward by employees, offer HR expertise on people issues to provide with a perfect employee experience, facilitate the attendance to training and development programs
  • Follow up and support for online learning programs where required

We are looking for

  • License degree preferably in HR, business administration, or a related field
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in MS Office and SAP, comfortable in learning new technical systems as needed
  • Excellent command of English in written and speaking
  • Proven experience in a related HR Role:
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Excellent record-keeping skills
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of Workday is a plus
