The Cisco Talos Security Intelligence and Research Group detects and correlates threats in real time using the world’s largest threat detection network, protecting against known and emerging cyber security threats to better protect the Internet.
Talos is seeking a puzzle-loving coder to join our growing team as a Research Engineer & Linguist. If you have a passion to stop bad guys and love working with large data-sets, then we need you!
Responsibilities:
Content analysis and categorization for email
Malicious email content detection
Perform exploratory, and targeted data analyses
Develop automation to eliminate manual tasks
Undertake development and support of cross-project tools and processes
Requirements:
Ability to read one or more of the following foreign languages Turkish, Hebrew or Chinese, is a must
BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics or closely related field, or 4+ years of industry experience in a relevant role using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Flask), SQL, Bash, Elastic Stack, MongoDB, Git and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu)
Demonstrate strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and meaningful manner
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and take on additional tasks as required
Experienced working with small teams to solve complex problems
Work Conditions:
Works closely with software reverse engineers and research analysts to quickly develop detection content for all our core applications
Moderate to high levels of stress may occur at times
Fast paced and constantly evolving environment
Extremely hardworking and experienced team members and mentors
