What You’ll Get to Do:
As a CACI-WGI (The Wexford Group International) Foreign Media Advisor – Analyst you will assist Program Management in day-to-day coordination and management of Foreign Media Analysis activities supporting the SOF Emergent Threats, Operations, and Planning Support (SOFETOPS) program at USASOC. You will provide analytical feedback through scouting of the social media environment within DoD compliance and SOFETOPS’ requirements. You’ll analyze foreign communications on a variety of social media platforms to identify potential threats posed by violent extremist organizations and near-peer adversaries to U.S. and Allied interests. The Foreign Media Advisor – Analyst informs the Functional Leads and reports directly to the Program Management Office (PMO).
More About the Role:
In this role, you’ll conduct multilingual monitoring of foreign news sources to provide timely and contextual expert analysis of current events and affairs. You will leverage Internet scraping tools to inform trend analysis and create brief actionable analytical products that combine OSINT and regional context supporting customer inquiries in real time.
You’ll also provide trend analysis on key issues developing over time; a range of foreign affairs complex issues; public opinion; and media sentiment. You will also be expected to provide foreign language news media expertise and advice to organizational leaders and planners.
You’ll advise on social, political, economic, and religious motivations behind major thought-provoking leaders (i.e., large news outlets, reporters, writers, or popular and well-regarded bloggers with online forum presences). Additionally, you will help develop and monitor Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs) and supervise junior foreign media advisors/analysts as required.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Possess two years, minimum, work experience demonstrating technical expertise in the following:
Conducting open-source research on media trends and consumer media use in global markets.
Collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data on media trends and consumer media use in global markets.
Level 2 proficiency (Interagency Language Roundtable scale) in preferred languages to include but not limited to Arabic, Berber, Bhasa Indonesian/Malay, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian/Farsi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, and Turkish
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and experience in research techniques.
- Ability to analyze data and research results.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Active TS/SCI
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
- Possess the above skills but with five-plus years of experience
- Possess an advanced degree in a field relevant to MOP/E analysis, such as, Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing, Journalism, or Economics.
- Regional area or functional target knowledge, as appropriate, is also desired with 8-10 years’ experience.
