  • University education in a relevant discipline preferred (business administration, Statistics )
  • At least two years of experience in an M&E, accountability, program quality or related role preferably with a humanitarian organization


  • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of the role and purpose of M&E and accountability for humanitarian organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills required
  • Strong capacity for M&E analysis and research
  • Demonstrated capability to produce high-quality monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning reports
  • Ability to use MS Office programs, particularly Excel
  • English language required; Arabic and/or Turkish desirable;
  • Good organizational skills, time management skills, and an ability to prioritize multiple and demanding tasks

Adaptable, self-motivated, willing to learn and take on extra duties as required


  • Technical management of field staff in Syria
  • Following up the implementation of the project’s MEAL plan and updating it on a monthly basis
  • Delivery of the requirements according to the plan and according to the agreed dates with the project management and partner
  • Follow-up budget disbursements allocated to the project
  • Producing project-related MEAL reports
  • Supervising surveys related to working on the department’s server on the Kobo
  • Share the weekly updates with the direct manager and project manager
  • Monitoring and updating the project indicators on a monthly basis
  • Follow-up updates /daily-weekly-monthly / with the project team
  • Manage the daily tasks of the Community Complaints Response Mechanism within the Organization’s areas of operation, improve processes and procedures to address complaints and feedback, and work with the Accountability Officer to develop accountability mechanisms.
  • Document examples of good practices and challenges related to monitoring and accountability at the project level
  • Documenting lessons learned, recommendations and follow-up with program teams on implementation of recommendations through review meetings

Timely access to monitoring and evaluation results for program teams through monitoring and updating data analysis, and through timely sharing and production of reports

From the beginning of the Syrian conflict and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in 2011, the unleashing of the humanitarian response was necessary to attempt any lessening of the tragic reality unfolding in Syria, which has continued to deteriorate at all levels with the slow international response. A number of aspiring young volunteers began to work spontaneously and voluntarily by focusing initially on support materials, food and collecting in-kind materials and cash to be distributed to people affected by the conflict to secure their basic needs.
The first office was established in the city of Idlib, and then was moved to the neighboring countryside. The work expanded to include the entire province of Idlib and other provinces. Violet Organization has worked so far in six provinces (Idlib, Aleppo, Hama, Damascus, Latakia, and Homs) in the areas controlled by opposing forces. Violet also established three camps for Syrian refugees near the Turkish border in Idlib province, Harem district in Salqin sub-district. According to the United Nations’ classification, these camps are considered organized and meet the minimum standards for camps.
Violet responds to emergencies in Syria in most humanitarian sectors: Food Security and Livelihood, Non-food Items and Shelter, Education, Health, and Camp Coordination and Management.
Violet integrates the protection sector in all the aforementioned sectors. With the length of the conflict and the survival of people for long periods at stake, Violet’s response has had to not only be focused on emergency response, but on the immediate implementation of long-impact health and education sector projects in all of Idlib.
Violet worked to establish and develop its organizational structure to start officially as an organization registered in Turkey in 2014. Accordingly, Violet divided the work into key sectors that mimic the divisions of international humanitarian organizations and implemented the appropriate structure for all departments and staff.
